These are the first of some photos I am working on editing for my family. Over Christmas, we scanned a few hundred photos that my grandparents have stored in their basement. They range from tintypes from the second half of the 1800s to photos of my parent’s wedding. The only thing they all have in common is that I am somehow related to all of these people!

The ones I have posted below are from an album of photos of my grandpa’s family farm in Wisconsin. I don’t know when they were all taken, probably between 1920 and 1940, since my grandpa was born in 1917. He tried to help me identify people, but he is 95, so, some were hard for him to remember. I do know that the photo of the woman and the dog is my great grandmother and their family dog Pal. My grandpa had 13 siblings so I am pretty sure that most of the people in these photos are my great aunts and uncles.

All the photos were scanned at 600 dpi and then edited in PhotoShop CS3. I mainly used levels, brightness/contrast, shadow/highlight, and exposure to enhance the images.
